Word for the Week...SEPT. 5-11/2005

(v.7)"And he departed thence and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.(v.8) And Crispus , the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house;and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptised.(v.9) Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision. Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:(v.10) For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee:for I have much people in this city.(v.11) And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the Word of God among them."

Having been rejected from one area of ministry, Paul told them clearly that the matter now lay between them and God! We will not win the whole world,so we need to accept that rejection of our message is part of the cost of discipleship! If we make a move...He will make a move! As Paul went on, he saw The Lord's favour, as more were converted to the faith. We, too, can be fishers of men, as we follow The Lord's leading;(Rom.8:14).God is not limited to human methods of communication, so we must be open to His ways, whether they are dreams, visions or prophesies, etc. Eighteen months of teaching must have covered a lot of ground! To be given such an opportunity would have been considered a great blessing by Paul, who had previously not been given 'the time of day' by his contemporaries! The message here is...don't be discouraged! There are many, whom The Lord has prepared, who are eagerly waiting for the Message. They may not always be on your doorstep! but they are out there!!! May The Lord Bless you.
