Word for the Week...Sept 11 --- 17 / 2006
To conclude this important section concerning the Church, we need to bear a few things in mind. First and foremost, is the fact that there has never been a time, even through the 'dark ages', when The Lord has ben without a witness unto HIS power, love and truth, as demonstrated in the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We can find much material concerning the exploits of such saints as Patrick, Columba, Anselm, Polycarp, Bernard, Bede, Thomas Moore, Newton, Whitefield, Wesley, Edwards, Studd, Carey, Livingstone, Carmichael, Taylor, Brainerd, Bounds, Muller, Moody, Finney, Torrey, Wilkerson, Graham, Palau, Bonkke, etc. etc. Undoubtedly we are indeed surrounded by a cloud of witnesses(Heb.12:1ff). Secondly, there must also be an innumerable army of lesser known saints who also fought the good fight against evil and emerged victorious as overcomers.(Rev.3:21). Third, The pages of History yet to be written, before The Lord Returns, will certainly have those yet to be found worthy, inscribed upon them. God makes no mistakes. Every word He Has spoken is true and every prophesy will come to pass. His eye is on the sparrow...and though our name may not be up in lights in some 100,000 seat stadium, The Lord Knows them that are HIS. That, in the final analysis, is what really matters ! Lets press on...Press in...and press through any hindrance that the enemy may put in our way, to becoming Victorious saints in our generation. May The Lord Bless you.
