"Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ and called, (v.2)Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied"."
Though Jude apparently had no great authority in the early Church, he spoke out against the rising tide of 'gnosticism'...a heresy which denied Jesus' humanity. Jesus Is the Perfect 'Homuzion' (Gk.), being fully Human and fully Divine.(Colossians 2:9 ). Any false teaching which seeks to detract from this, must always be refuted by the Church. Jude was an early Champion of the Faith ' once delivered to the saints' [ v.3]. Jude and James were both brothers of Jesus. Imagine the impact on their lives as they witnessed His Ministry first-hand ! Compared to the other Apostles, little is known about Jude. His letter, however, proves the depth of his personal faith and his sound understnding of correct Doctrine. Now we may not all blow the biggest trumpet in Church ! but we are still of inestimable value to God, Who spared not His own Son for us.( Romans 8:32). Let us persevere in our faith and , like Jude, thus give glory to God.
