"Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to God's elect,strangers in the world, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, (v.2) who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father; through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ .and sprinkling by His Blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance."
There is Great, Unlimited Power in The Precious Blood of Jesus. So much so, that the one who trusts in this alone, can be separate from the 'world';(viz. it's system of godlessness; organized and controlled by satan;the god of this world). As we meditate on this Scripture; yet another example of the Trinity of the Godhead,( the Bedrock of the Christian faith), we can wonder at the unfathomable Grace of God in His Master-plan to bring us Salvation.This Plan was Conceived in The Heart and Mind of God before the worlds were created.(Eph.1:4). Yet, our obedience is an essential element, if we are to appropriate all He has for us.(Phil.2:12-13).God has done His part...we must do ours ! Just the very fact that we are chosen 'out of the world', is enough to make the world hate us ! We know, in our spirit, that there is a much better place being prepared for us (John 14:2-3). Let us embrace the fact that' this world' is not our home ! (1 Cor. 15:48).Indeed, Here we have no continuing city... If every Christian were to live their lives like that, what a witness it would be !!! May The Lord give us the Grace to do so...Thus ends this part of Peter's letter. May The Lord Bless you.
