"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.".
Many are called, but few are chosen... (Matt.20:16). What a wonderful priviledge to have been put in such a position by the grace of God ! Jesus Is King of the Jews and as we share His Inheritance, we are also part of His Royal Lineage, as adopted sons and daughters....(Gal.4:5). To be Holy is to be separate, and God Has separated us from the world...(John 15:116,19)...to reflect His Glory. In modern English, the word 'peculiar' is often understood to be 'odd', but the original meaning here is 'special', or treasured'. What does it mean to be called out of darkness ? One is no longer aimlessly drifting... from one catastrophe to the next,... in a vortex of an existence,... under the condemnation of God,... in the grip of the devil !(Rom.3:23,6:23.). Instead, one has a purpose in life, to live for God, being called into His marvellous light; synonymous with Truth and Goodness, knowing His Peace, Love and Joy, amidst all the trials and testings common to man. There is forgiveness for the past, confidence for the present and hope for the future. What a contrast ! Let's choose Life and Thank God for Jesus ! Because, if anyone is trusting in Him for their salvation, they are a 'new creation' and 'old things have passed away...(2Cor.5:17). Hallelujah ! May The Lord Bless you.
